Join QERA, renew your annual membership via AERA Online, and view our current fee structures and volunteer discount schemes.
2026 Membership Renewals & New Applications
All QERA membership renewals and new applications for 2026 are now processed through the national AERA Online platform. This streamlined system features secure automated payment and eliminates the need to download or mail paper forms.
Important Note: If you elect to take out Personal Accident Insurance, you must still complete that specific manual form and return it to the Registrar.
How to Apply Online
- Log In or Register: Head to AERA Online and log into your account (or create a new one if you don't have one).
- Navigate to Memberships: Select the My Details option. Locate the new Membership option under the Members Details section.
- Submit Application: Select the Renew button (for returning members) or the New button (if you haven’t taken out a membership previously).

I can't select my name as a 'New' member
If you are not able to select your name from the drop-down list, it means you have never been listed in the national database.
Please forward your Name, Date of Birth, and Contact Details to the QERA Registrar. They will add you to the database so you can proceed with your online application.
I need detailed instructions or assistance
If you need assistance navigating the portal, head to the Help menu inside AERA Online and download the Renewing your Membership sheet for step-by-step instructions.
You can also use the Contact Us option under the Help menu to ask any specific questions, and support will respond as soon as possible.
Gold Card Volunteer Discount Scheme
Introduced in 2009 to recognise the vital contribution of our volunteers, the Gold Card scheme offers a significantly discounted membership fee to those who actively help run our sport.
New Members
You are automatically eligible for the lower Gold Card membership fee in your FIRST YEAR of membership! After your first year, you will fall under the Renewal criteria.
Renewing Members
To be eligible for the Gold Card discount, you must have contributed in the previous year in at least one of the following roles:
- An active Chief Steward for at least one complete ride.
- A Ride Secretary.
- An active TPR Steward for at least one complete ride (part rides do not count).
- An Executive Member (President, VP, Secretary, or Treasurer) of an affiliated Ride Organising Club, or a member of the QERA SMC.
- A Significant Volunteer for at least a whole ride weekend (or equivalent). Note: Eligibility is determined by the Ride Organising Club, who submits a list of eligible members to the QERA Registrar.
